New Aged Care Legislation
The new aged care legislation passed both houses of Parliament on 25 November 2024 and following Royal Assent It will become the new Aged Care Act from 1 July 2025. Person-centred care has never been more important, and we can help you to embed this into your IPC programs seamlessly to support your performance in the upcoming changes.

Draft Aged Care Standards
The draft Aged Care Quality Standards focus on basic infection prevention and control fundamentals - standard and transmission-based Precautions, responding to and managing outbreaks, and antimicrobial stewardship. While important, they comprise only a portion of a robust IPC program. Contact us to learn more or see what digital services we have available to support you in establishing your IPC program.

The Aged Care Infection Prevention and Control Guide
The newly released IPC guide for aged care was published in August 2024 by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care. It serves as a resource to outline IPC practices across various aged care settings. It supplements the Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare, offering guidance for aged care environments.
